The Cliffs of Moher Experience nabbed the top spot this year as Ireland's Best Visitor Attraction in The Irish Independent's 2023 Reader Travel Awards.
The award marks an interesting shift from some of the destination's best-known urban tourist sites, including the massively popular Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, which still tops the list in other surveys.
Described as a discovery point on Failte Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, a main geosite of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Unesco Geopark and a Special Protection Area for Birds and Wildlife, the Cliffs of Moher visitor attraction in County Clare is seen a way to lure visitors into the countryside to experience the natural beauty for which Ireland is famous.
The core focus of the Cliffs of Moher Strategy 2040 is the future protection of the site and delivery of economic benefit for the wider region.
