Drum Castle to host works from Aberdeen Art Gallery

The 12th century Drum Castle in Aberdeenshire has been tapped by the National Trust for Scotland to host key pieces from Aberdeen Art Gallery, which is undergoing an extensive, 18-month redevelopment.

Works from the gallery’s collection are being showcased in a dedicated gallery at the castle for the public. The exhibition will run for two years.

Visitors can also take in the castle’s permanent collection, which includes works by Joshua Reynolds and Henry Raeburn.

Other National Trust attractions in Aberdeenshire include the gardens and estates at Crathes Castle, Fyvie Castle, Leith Hall, Castle Fraser and Craigievar Castle, all featured in Scotland’s Castle Trail. Its new website offers 2016 group rates and a selection of itinerary ideas including Day Trips from Aberdeen.
