The five-star, 23-suite Les Suites at the Cliff Bay opened on Portugal's island of Madeira on Oct. 21.

A member of the PortoBay group, the property is located just northeast of the Cliff Bay hotel near Funchal's Estrada Monumental.

The hotel comprises two 100-year-old manors and a new wing connected by gardens, an infinity pool and views of the Atlantic Ocean and Funchal Bay.

The new wing offers suites and duplex suites, both offering a sitting room, bedroom, living room, marble bathroom and large balconies.

There are several suites in the older section, including the Master Suite, which features two bedrooms, a kitchenette and a large balcony.

Facilities include the new Avista restaurant overseen by executive chef Benoit Sinthon, scenic gardens, lounges, terraces, a gym, a Pilates room, an infinity-edge pool, a Jacuzzi and a solarium.

Guestroom amenities include Bulgari toiletries, WiFi and 49-inch smart TVs with USB and HDMI connections.

Guests at Les Suites have access to all of the Cliff Bay hotel's services and facilities, including direct access to the sea, saltwater pool, indoor/outdoor pool, spa, bars and restaurants, including the two-Michelin-starred Il Gallo d'Oro.

The PortoBay group comprises 15 hotels: seven on Madeira, one in the Algarve, two in Lisbon and two in Porto in Portugal; and three in Brazil.
