French unions are staging a national day of strikes and demonstrations Tuesday in opposition to the government’s pension reforms. This is the third day of strikes in a month.
Half of all flights to and from Paris Orly Airport, and one in three flights at Charles de Gaulle and Beauvais were canceled Tuesday.
Ryanair canceled 250 flights, and British Airways warned passengers of delays and disruptions.
Just one in three TGV high-speed trains were expected to run, although Eurostar’s Paris-to-London route should operate normally.
The Paris Metro and French rail services also were disrupted.
More mass demonstrations are planned over the coming weekend.
