Burkat Global promotes Jewish heritage tour of southern India

Burkat Global is offering a 13-night tour focusing on Jewish India and taking in Mumbai, Kerala and Cochin. The tour, which departs Jan. 26, costs $7,995 per person, double, and includes hotel accommodations, all transfers and internal transportation, most meals (meals are not kosher), bottled water, sightseeing with entrance fees, the services of expert Jewish Indian guides, taxes and gratuities. The tour is limited to 20 people. Tour highlights include a stay in the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai; exploring Kerala by luxury houseboat; touring synagogues in Cochin; a Shabbat service in Paradesi Synagogue in Kerala; a Shabbat dinner in Cochin; a visit to the 13th century tombstone of Sara bat Israel, on which is written what some scholars call the oldest Hebrew text in India; and a visit to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale exhibition in Kerala.
