Butterfield & Robinson package explores Romania by bicycle

For 2018, Butterfield & Robinson has created a five-night trip through Romania by bicycle.

The trip begins in Sibiu in central Romania and explores the countryside, including stops in Cund, Sighisoara and Talisoara. Travelers will stop along the way at the oldest settlements in Transylvania and Unesco Heritage Sites, with curated meals and wine tastings.

Guests have the opportunity to get off their bikes and take a walking tour through the city of Sighisoara, which is full of medieval citadels.

The level of activity for Romania Biking is considered “recreational,” with about 15 to 35 miles of riding per day.

Some roads may be hilly; cyclists will be shuttled through higher traffic areas in towns, but country roads are generally paved and quiet.

The Romania Biking trip is available in May, June, August and September 2018. Rates start at $5,795 per person, double occupancy, and include hotel accommodations; most meals; entrance fees and private, guided sightseeing; and use of a customized hybrid bicycle with equipment, including a handlebar-mounted tablet with preloaded GPS biking routes.
