Hyatt Carmel Highlands celebrates July's National Picnic Month

With July designated National Picnic Month, the Hyatt Carmel Highlands in Carmel, Calif., is offering a hiking and picnic plan for the month. The overnight package, priced from $600 per room, double, includes a picnic lunch prepared by the hotel's chefs in a keepsake picnic backpack and a guided hike by Big Sur hiking expert Stephan Copeland. The hiking excursions include the Walk of the Married Redwoods, a 2.5-hour walk mostly on flat terrain, through the Big Sur hillside; the Robinson Jeffers Walk, showcasing the canyons and the sea of the Big Sur area and named for the poet who wrote often about the region; the Meditation Walk, which begins and ends with yoga and includes silently traversing the Little Sur River; the Bluff Trail, which explores various coves and bluffs along the seashore; and the Waterfall Walk, which takes in a waterfall along the Big Sur River.
