Learning Journeys presents spiritual passage through India

Learning Journeys introduces the Dalai Lama and Spiritual India Tour, an eight-night trip departing Jan. 12 featuring the 34th annual Kalachakra Festival presided over by the Dalai Lama.

The tour begins in Delhi, where guests will experience local cuisine, yoga and ancient monuments such as the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple Complex. Guests can help out at a community kitchen at the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara before spending the night with a local family for a cooking lesson. From there, guests will travel to Varanasi and on to Bodhgaya, where they will spend three days at the Buddhist Kalachakra Festival in a luxury tented camp. Other highlights include a trip to the Sarnath Museum, Humayun's Tomb, the Vishwanath and Bharat Mata temples and a sunrise Ganges River boat ride.

Priced from $2,175 per person, double, the cost covers tent and hotel accommodations; daily breakfasts; two lunches at a local restaurant; meals during the Kalachakra Festival; transportation, including intra-India airfare; the services of English-speaking guides; and yoga sessions.
