Learning Journeys introduces the Dalai Lama and Spiritual India Tour, an eight-night trip departing Jan. 12 featuring the 34th annual Kalachakra Festival presided over by the Dalai Lama.
The tour begins in Delhi, where guests will experience local cuisine, yoga and ancient monuments such as the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple Complex. Guests can help out at a community kitchen at the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara before spending the night with a local family for a cooking lesson. From there, guests will travel to Varanasi and on to Bodhgaya, where they will spend three days at the Buddhist Kalachakra Festival in a luxury tented camp. Other highlights include a trip to the Sarnath Museum, Humayun's Tomb, the Vishwanath and Bharat Mata temples and a sunrise Ganges River boat ride.
