Llama Expeditions offers Peru hiking getaway to women travelers

ANDES LLAMASWith women now accounting for about half the traffic along the Inca Trail, Llama Expeditions is offering a nine-night "girls' getaway" for women who would like to complete the hike. The excursion begins and ends in Lima and includes tours of the city and visits to a remote weaving community in the Andes or to an Inca Trail porter community. Along with four nights hiking along the Inca Trail, guests will also have a chance to explore colonial Cuzco and Machu Picchu. Rates begin at $4,497 for groups of two to four, with the individual price decreasing for larger groups. If booked between June 1 and the end of the year for a hike that will be completed by the end of 2014, clients receive a $100 discount. Guests will be accommodated in small lodges and three-season tents along the Inca trail. The cost also covers transfers, the services of English-speaking guides, entrance fees to archaeological sites, sightseeing and most meals.
