The Portland Square Hotel, currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation, is slated to become the Sanctuary Hotel in 2010 and is offering preview rates for its renovated rooms. The property, located in Times Square, is offering a Dress Rehearsal rate for stays in one of its nine newly renovated studio rooms. Rates start at $159 per night, double; after renovations are complete, rates will start at $309 per night. The Dress Rehearsal rate is valid through March 31. Fairmonts in British Columbia make rooms available for Olympic Games
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler (B.C.) is making a select number of rooms and suites available during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The inventory changes daily, but as of press time, rooms available were one-bedroom suites for $1,449 per night (Feb. 11 through 15); deluxe slopeside rooms for $1,199 (Feb. 15 to 23); and Fairmont rooms for $999 (Feb. 23 to 28).
