The Jefferson DC asks guests 'Where's Tommy' this summer

The Jefferson DC is cutting its summer rates and is enticing guests to get out and explore by turning sightseeing into a social media scavenger hunt of sorts with the Where's Tommy summer package. For stays booked by Aug. 31 for travel through Sept. 7, the hotel is discounting its best available rates by 20% and also offering 50% off a second room for guests ages 12 to 18. For those guests who wish to go on a Thomas Jefferson-inspired sightseeing jaunt, the hotel is offering a customized map of downtown Washington highlighting locations with a connection to Jefferson and a Thomas Jefferson cutout figure. After arriving at each location, guests must document it by taking a picture of the cutout with a smartphone and upload it to Instagram with the handle @TheJeffersonDC and hashtag #WheresTommyDC. In addition, the package includes a frozen treat upon return from sightseeing; a Jefferson bobble-head takeaway for kids (one per two children); a coffee talk with a Washington historian prior to venturing out (Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. only); coffee, tea, bottled water and mini-muffins in the lobby each morning; and an add-on option of a Jefferson Mobile Meal ($35 per person), including a sandwich, potato chips, pasta salad, dessert, fruit cup and water.
