Tokyo hotel offers Godzilla-themed rooms

The 970-room Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, which opened in April in Kabukicho, Tokyo's entertainment and nightlife district on the eight to 13th floors of the Shinjuku Toho Building, offers guests the chance to sleep up-close-and-personal with a movie monster.

The hotel features two types of Godzilla-themed rooms: six Godzilla View Rooms, located on the eight floor, and one Godzilla Room, on the hotel's top floor.

The Godzilla View rooms all look out onto the hotel's eight-floor terrace and overlook a life-size replica of the monster's head. Rates start at about $126 per night.

The one-of-a-kind Godzilla room features a life-size Godzilla claw over the beds and a Godzilla figure in the room, wall panels with monster decorations and other memorabilia decorating the interior. Rates start at about $335 per night.

The Godzilla rooms must be booked online and are not commissionable to travel agents, but the hotel does offer commission on other bookings. Contact the property via email for details.
