Willard marks 50th anniversary of King's historic 'Dream' speech

While a guest at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington on Aug. 28, 1963, the Rev.Martin Luther King Jr. completed his "I Have a Dream" speech. Fifty years later, the hotel is offering the Dream the Dream and Dream Discovery packages to commemorate the occasion. The one-night Dream the Dream package, priced from $399 per room, double, will be offered Aug. 24 and features a gospel brunch and a commemorative keepsake. The Dream Discovery package, meanwhile, is valid for a two-night stay from Aug. 1 through Sept. 2 and is priced from $318 per room, per night, double. The cost covers breakfast in Cafe du Pac and two tickets for the D.C. in Black -- Civil War to Civil Rights five-hour bus tour, with stops at the African American Civil War Museum, Frederick Douglass' Cedar Hill Mansion and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.
