Hawaii tourism officials were surely pleased with ratings for the NFL's Pro Bowl on Jan. 30, as the Honolulu-based game was the most-watched installment of the annual all-star matchup since 1997.

The 2011 Pro Bowl attracted 13.4 million viewers, according to the Fox network, falling just short of the 13.5 million who tuned in for 1997's game.

Ratings were also up significantly from last year's Pro Bowl, climbing 8% when compared with the 2010 game held in Miami.

The game will be played in Honolulu again next year, but there is still no agreement between the NFL and Hawaii tourism officials for the years following.
