Oahu visitors scheduled to be in Honolulu March 12 to 14 may want to consider spending some time at the 16th annual Honolulu Festival. The three-day attraction offers a weekend packed with free events showcasing the best of Asia, the Pacific Rim and, of course, Hawaii.

This year's festival, titled "Discovery Through Traditions," features dance performances, craft workshops and traditional art demonstrations from Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Tahiti, Korea, the Philippines and Alaska.

The festival will conclude with a parade through Waikiki featuring dance troupes from across the Pacific in their traditional attire, an appearance by Miss Hawaii, live music and a range of hula performers.

The festival's events take place at various locations in the heart of Honolulu and Waikiki. Organizers are expecting 5,000 performers and more than 70,000 spectators this year.
