Air capacity to Hawaii expected to drop 11% in Q3

Scheduled airline seats from the U.S. mainland to Hawaii are expected to decrease 11.2%, to 1.69 million, in the third quarter of 2008, projects the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

The number of seats from Las Vegas is projected to be down 43%, to 48,576. DBEDT projected Oakland will be down 80%, to 24,288; San Diego down 31%, to 42,194; Sacramento down 43%, to 24,288; and Los Angeles down 4% to 533,058.
