Alaska Airlines inaugurated daily, nonstop service to Honolulu from both Oakland and San Jose, Calif., on April 10.

The carrier had already offered nonstop service from Oakland and San Jose to Hawaii’s three other major islands.

“Honolulu is the vibrant epicenter of Hawaii, with everything from historic landmarks, treasured monuments, a flourishing arts-and-culture scene and world-class beaches,” Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

Now the third-largest provider of air seats from the West Coast to Hawaii, Alaska has added 22 daily flights from U.S. mainland cities to the Islands since October of 2007.
