Alaska Airlines will inaugurate nonstop, daily Honolulu-Oakland, Calif., and Honolulu-San Jose, Calif., service beginning April 10.

“We are extremely pleased with the additional routes and increase in seat inventory,” Mike McCartney, president and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Association, said in a statement about the new service. “Additionally, Alaska Airlines will be increasing service from Oakland and San Jose to Lihue and Kona to daily service beginning in March. With the additional service, Alaska Airlines will have the second-largest number of air seats servicing the U.S. West to the Hawaiian Islands.”

Alaska announced the daily Oakland and San Jose service to Lihue, Kauai and the Big Island’s Kona Airport in September.

The HTA expects the new Alaska daily flights from Oakland and San Jose to Honolulu to generate $118 million in visitor expenditures annually.
