Alaska began nonstop service to Lihue, Kauai, from both San Jose and Oakland, Calif., on March 27.
"These new flights to the beautiful Garden Isle of Kauai will be a great addition to Alaska's Hawaii service for our Bay Area customers," Joe Sprague, Alaska's vice president of marketing, said in a March 25 statement. "The San Jose and Oakland airports are, indeed, convenient alternatives for Bay Area travelers flying to the Islands."
Alaska’s service from San Jose to Lihue is offered three times a week, while the Oakland-Lihue flight operates four times a week.
The airline will use 157-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the new routes.
