The fourth annual Big Island Chocolate Festival will run May 7 through 9, featuring three new events held at local farms.
With everything from chocolate-making classes and seminars to a seven-course chocolate-themed dinner, farm tours and a ballroom gala catered by the state’s top chocolate confectioners, the Big Island Chocolate Festival offers visitors a wonderful introduction to the destination’s sweetest industry.
This year’s new local farm participants are the Kokoleka Lani Farm and Kuaiwi Farm near Captain Cook on the Big Island of Hawaii’s west coast.
Presented by the Kona Cacao Association, most of the Big Island Chocolate Festival events are held at the Fairmont Orchid. This year the 32-acre property is offering a special room rate of $299 a night, including breakfast for two, during the event.
The Big Island Chocolate Festival Gala will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. May 9 at the grand ballroom of the Fairmont Orchid with admission starting at $75.
