BSC KVSC, the owner of the King’s Village shopping center in Waikiki, has begun preliminary redevelopment planning for the property and is considering constructing a new luxury condominium hotel on the site.

Archeological trenching work began on property, located behind the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, earlier this month, and construction on the new condo hotel is tentatively slated to begin in 2016.

BSC KVSC, a subsidiary of Hawaii-based Black Sand Capital, purchased the Ohana  Waikiki West Hotel in November, announcing an extensive renovation there to reposition that property as a high-end hotel offering.
