Date set for the Kauai Golf Classic

LIHUE, Hawaii -- The Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club teamed up with Summit Ridge Events, a provider of corporate training/team building and incentive programs, to create the Kauai Golf Classic.

The inaugural tournament will take place Dec. 5 to 8 at the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Kiele and Mokihana courses.

Fully commissionable packages, which include entry into the tournament, are available at the resort.

The weekends schedule is as follows: Check-in is on Dec. 5, followed by a welcome reception at Aupaka Terrace, Marriott. A practice round at the Kiele Course begins at 8 a.m. on Dec. 6. The first round begins at 8 a.m. on Dec. 7 at both the Kiele and Mokihana courses.

On Dec. 8, the final rounds will be played, followed by a banquet and awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m.

Participants in the Kauai Golf Classic can opt for a four-night package at the Kauai Marriott that includes three rounds of golf (one practice and two competition), practice balls, parking, a welcome reception, admission to the closing-night banquet and a golf shirt with the tournament logo.

The cost is $1,150 per person, double (with two golfers in one room); $1,450 for a single; and $1,650 for couples with one spouse competing, both attending the banquet. Pre- and post-stays at the Marriott are available for $180 per night.
