Delta Air Lines will begin daily nonstop flights between Seattle and the Kona Airport on the Big Island of Hawaii Dec. 19.

“Over the past year, we’ve focused on building our Seattle hub by adding new service and investing in our products and facilities to provide a strong, differentiated option to key destinations for both our business and leisure customers,” Mike Medeiros, Delta’s vice president of Seattle, said in a statement earlier this year.

“The addition of Kona service, along with expansion in other leisure markets, ensures our customers have even more choices when it’s time to unwind,” he added.

Delta will also add an additional daily flight between Seattle and Palm Springs, Calif., on Dec. 19 as well new seasonal daily flights between Seattle and Tucson, Ariz.
