Chef Elmer Guzman, known for his Poke Stop restaurants around Oahu, is at the helm of Fish Hook Cafe, a new restaurant recently opened at Luana Waikiki Hotel and Suites.

Fish Hook Cafe is serving breakfast and lunch, including the signature built-to-order poke bowls from Guzman in addition to sustainable-sources prepared items such as salads, sandwiches and pastries.

With the opening of Fish Hook Cafe the Luana Waikiki also debuted Fish Bowl, a breakfast buffet also conceived by Guzman featuring a rotating selection of Hawaiian-influenced dishes, such as meats, pastries and island-grown fruits.

Guzman was born and raised on Maui and graduated from Kapiolani Community College Culinary Arts Program before working in kitchens led by one of Hawaii's original celebrity chefs, Alan Wong. He also served as a sous chef at Emeril Lagasse's New Orleans restaurant before returning to the Aloha State to take the position of executive chef at Sam Choy's Diamond Head restaurant. He launched Poke Stop in 2005 and his own catering business, Elmer Guzman's Island Cuisine, in 2012.

Fish Hook Cafe is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the Fish Bowl buffet is served daily 7-11 a.m. For more information visit www.luanawaikiki.com.
