An Oahu staple since 1981, the 32nd annual Hawaii International Film Festival kicked off its 2012 program Oct. 11 in Honolulu, debuting the first of more than 200 films from 43 different countries scheduled to screen during the 10-day event.

Regularly attracting more than 80,000 residents and visitors, the festival annually features top films from Asia and the Pacific, promoting culturally accurate stories and performances to a primarily American audience.
