More than 928,000 passengers traveled on Hawaiian Airlines flights in August, an increase of 5.8% over the same month last year.


Revenue-producing passenger miles also grew, jumping 9% year over year, to more than 1.26 billion, according to data released by the carrier Sept. 5.

Hawaiian’s load factor improved last month, as well, inching up 1 percentage point, to 85.3%.

Year to date through August, Hawaiian has transported more than 6.7 million passengers, up nearly 7% year over year, though the carrier’s load factor slipped 2.1 percentage points, to 81.9%.
