Hawaiian Airlines has announced plans to increase capacity to Portland, Ore., and Oakland, Calif., this year.

Beginning May 10, the carrier will introduce its new wide-body Airbus 294-seat A330-200 aircraft to its daily nonstop Honolulu-Portland route, replacing the 264-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft it currently operates on the segment and adding an additional 11,000 available seats from the destination annually.

Hawaiian will also increase its current four-times-weekly service between Oakland and Honolulu to a daily flight, on June 15.

The seasonal increase will run through Oct. 3 and result in 12,000 new air seats from the Bay Area during the 16-week period.
