Hawaiian Airlines transported more than 976,000 travelers in August, an increase of 5.2% over the same month last year.

The carrier’s load factor decreased in August, however, dipping 1.6 percentage points year over year, to 83.2%, according to figures released by Hawaiian Sept. 8.

Meanwhile, revenue producing miles grew nearly 2% last month.

Through the end of August, Hawaiian transported nearly 7.1 million travelers, an increase of 5.1%, while the carrier’s load factor has remained essentially unchanged year over year, dipping less than 1 percentage point, to 81.1%.
