Hawaiian baggage fee revenue hits peak in Q3

Hawaiian Airlines took in $19.1 million in baggage-fee revenue during the third quarter, an increase of 5.3% over the company’s previous peak set during the third quarter of 2012.

Hawaiian finished 10th on a ranking of baggage fees collected by U.S. carriers, released by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics earlier this month.

Delta finished first with $226.2 million in baggage fees collected during Q3, while United came in a distant second with just $170.8 million.

All told U.S. carriers collected $878.8 million in baggage fee revenue during the three month period.
