Hawaiian Airlines has moved up the launch date for its daily, year-round nonstop service between Maui and Los Angeles to May 2.

The carrier previously announced plans to commence daily year-round service on the route June 2.

“In response to robust demand, Hawaiian Airlines is pleased to advance the start date and increase summer frequency for our new daily Los Angeles-Maui service, giving travelers more options and flexibility to visit the beautiful island of Maui,” Peter Ingram, Hawaiian’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said in a statement.

The airline also plans to add a second seasonal daily flight between Maui and LAX, starting June 30 and running through Sept. 8.

According to Hawaiian, the new flights will add more than 175,000 air seats to both the Los Angeles and Maui markets this year.
