Again helping to boost airlift to the Islands this summer, Hawaiian Airlines launched nonstop daily service between Maui and San Diego on June 18. It's the first time in two years that the carrier has offered the route.
"We're very pleased to again be offering the convenience of nonstop flights between San Diego and Maui and are supporting this service with some great airfares that will help stimulate demand for Maui's visitor industry," Glenn Taniguchi, Hawaiian's senior vice president for marketing and sales, said in a statement.
Hawaiian will use its 264-seat Boeing 767 aircraft on the Maui-San Diego route through Aug. 24. The move will add 18,000 seats to Maui during the Islands' busiest season.
