Hawaiian Airlines transported 683,829 passengers in September, jumping 14.9% from the 595,070 it carried during the same month last year.

According to a statement released Oct. 5, Hawaiian's September load factor also improved year over year, growing 3.8 percentage points to 83.8% for the month.

Year to date, Hawaiian has transported 6.2 million total passengers, up 5.6% from last year, while the airline's load factor has inched up .3%, to 83.7%.

In an Oct. 6 statement, Hawaiian also announced that it earned the airline industry's No. 1 ranking for both best on-time performance and fewest customer complaints during the month of August, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation's monthly Air Travel Consumer Report.

In August, 94.7% of Hawaiian's flights arrived as scheduled, while the airline generated zero consumer complaints.
