The Fourth Annual Honolulu Surf Film Festival is scheduled for July 8 to 31 and will feature 22 films screened at the Honolulu Academy’s Doris Duke Theater.
“This year our surf film festival continues with the diversity our film festival has become known for,” Gina Caruso, the Honolulu Academy’s film curator, said in a statement. “The films range from pure action-packed surfing with a new release from Taylor Steele to a focus on the stunning achievements of great women of surf, from Hawaii’s Carissa Moore in ‘Leave a Message’ to the real-life Gidget.”
An opening-night reception is planned at the museum’s Pavilion Courtyard that will include free Kona Brewing Co. beer and a drawing for a high-performance Surftech Standup Paddle Board. Entry to the event is a $20 Academy donation.
