Hawaii’s statewide hotel occupancy was 82.4% for the week ending Jan. 21, an increase of 3.9 percentage points over the same period one year earlier.


The average daily room rate was also up across the Islands, climbing nearly 8% year over year, to $202.08 a night, according to a report by Hospitality Advisors and Smith Travel Research.

Hawaii’s statewide occupancy was more than 30 percentage points better than the national rate for the week while its room rates were $102 higher than the countrywide average.
