On the Big Island of Hawaii, the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort announced dates for two festivals taking place on its property this year, adding to its long list of classes and cultural activities guests can take part in.

"From the on-site Kona Boys Beach Shack to the deep-sea mysteries of Atlantis Adventures' submarine tours, the resort offers a full itinerary of exploration without ever leaving the grounds," the resort said in a news release. "The journey culminates at Flight of Aloha, Hawaii's first and only Flying Theater Ride, offering a breathtaking, immersive tribute to the spirit of the islands that will leave locals seeing their home in a whole new light."

On March 14, the 31st annual Kona Brewers Festival brings the community together for craft beers by breweries such as Kona Brewing, Maui Brewing, Aloha beer and Honolulu Beerworks. Festival goers will also be able to sample dishes from local restaurants, including Kahuwai Cookhouse, Island Lava Java and The Temple Kitchen and Bar. The year's featured entertainment is a fashion show, music by Ron Artis II, a comedy show by Tumua Tuinei, and DJ Hapa Boy. Tickets are $100.

From June 5 to 7, the Hawaii Kuauli Pacific and Asia Cultural Festival takes place at the resort, and it celebrates Hawaii's cultural melting pot. The three-day event includes a hula opening ceremony, food, a wearable arts fashion show, a world fireknife competition and a culinary event. Tickets are priced per event. On June 7 and 8, the public is welcome to shop the Hawaii Kuauli Marketplace as well, with booths showcasing jewelry, gifts and clothing.
