The island of Maui finished fourth on a recent ranking by US News & World Report readers and travel experts of the World’s Best Places to Visit.
Paris held on to its top position for another consecutive year, but Maui beat out New York City for the fourth position, finishing behind London (second place) and Barcelona (third place) in a ranking that evaluated over 300 global destinations.
Maui finished first on the publication’s Best Places to Visit in the U.S. list, jumping five spots from last year’s ranking and beating out second-place Yellowstone and third-place Washington, D.C.
US News & World Report’s global destinations list featured no other Hawaiian Islands, but Honolulu did come in eighth on the publication’s Best Places to Visit in the U.S., right behind Yosemite and ahead of Orlando.
