The 40-acre Honua Kai Resort & Spa, fronting West Maui’s Kaanapali Beach, celebrated the grand opening of its new Hoola Spa facility Sept. 20.
The 3,000-square-foot spa includes three expansive treatment rooms and a Himalayan salt room, designed as a re-creation of Eastern European caves, known for their healing properties, according to resort officials, that will incorporate “hand-mined salt derived from 250 million-year-old ancient sea salt deposits.”
Making use of products by Maile Organics, a Hawaii-based luxury beauty brand, the facility includes other signature treatment options such as the Revitalizing Mango Nectar Package, the Alae Sea Salt Glow and an Anti-Aging Coffee Fruit Renewal Facial.
Resort officials said the Hoola Spa facility will add an open-air “cabana village” in 2014 where guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor massage and body treatment options.
“Hoola Spa was inspired by the natural elements and beauty of Maui,” Debbe Evans, director of spa development at Honua Kai, said in a statement. “And we’re looking forward to providing the ideal setting for guests to find peace and relaxation.”
