The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) has begun work on an $18 million renovation to the longest runway at Maui’s Kahului Airport.

Reconstruction and resurfacing work on Runway A at the airport began late last month and will continue during nighttime hours twice weekly until the end of the year.

Along with the resurfacing, new lights, signage, and runway stripping are all slated to be added before the end of the year.
