Craig Andersen took over as general manager of Waikiki's Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, on July 18.


Prior to his new post, he was general manager at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, a position he had held since 2002. Andersen has also served as a general manager at properties on Kauai and in Arizona.

In 2010 he was appointed chair of the Maui Visitors Bureau and has been a member of the executive boards of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau and the Japan-Hawaii Tourism Council.

Keith Vieira, senior vice president and director of Hawaii and French Polynesia operations for Starwood, Westin's parent company, said in a statement: “Craig has been a valuable part of our Starwood family, an outstanding leader in Hawaii’s visitor industry and a respected member of the community. He continues to implement innovative solutions to improve hotel operations, enhance the experience of our guests and strengthen tourism in Hawaii.”
