Not surprisingly, the state sending the most visitors to Hawaii in 2007 was California.
Of the 7.3 million Hawaii visitors last year, 1.9 million were from California, according to the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
The majority of Hawaii visitors were from the West Coast, with a total of 2.5 million visitors from California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Mountain region states -- including Arizona, Colorado and Utah -- followed with a total of 630,682 visitors.
The fewest number of visitors came to Hawaii from the Eastern South Central region (Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee) with 96,070 visitors.
Following California, the states with the most Hawaii visitors were Washington, 380,290; Texas, 226,402; Arizona, 187,013; Oregon, 176,587; and Illinois, 145,456. Of the East Coast states, New York sent the most visitors to Hawaii, 125,205.
