A remake of the hit TV drama "Hawaii Five-O" will premiere on Monday, Sept. 20 on CBS, the same date the original debuted 42 years ago.
"All of us making this show are huge fans of the original, so debuting on Sept. 20 is our way of honoring what came before us," said the show's executive producer, Peter Lenkov, in a July 22 Honolulu Star Advertiser report. "We have huge shoes to fill ... and are reminded of that every morning when we say 'Action.'"
Preproduction on the show started in June, and filming began last month on Oahu.
Australian actor Alex O'Loughlin plays the Steve McGarrett character made famous by Jack Lord, and Scott Caan takes over as Danno.
