The Navy has awarded Watts Constructors of Honolulu a $32.6 million contract for work on the USS Arizona Memorial, Hawaii's most popular tourist destination, according to a report in the Pacific Business News.

The company will construct new buildings to support security, rest rooms, sales, education, offices, exhibits and rest areas at Pearl Harbor.

The current movie and lecture theater will be renovated, a U.S. Department of Defense spokesman said. Work is scheduled to be completed by September 2010.
