Outside of Waikiki, Hawaii, the 12-story, 199-room Pagoda Hotel has served generations of residents and travelers since it first opened in 1964. It's a Honolulu landmark known for its circular floating restaurant, pagoda-style lanterns and Japanese-inspired garden with koi fishponds.
This month, the hotel has unveiled a propertywide refresh, featuring upgraded guestrooms and corridors, exterior updates, commissioned in-room artwork, and a new retail and snack concept in the lobby. Major improvements have also been made to the koi pond area, gardens and walkways.
"The Pagoda has always been a place to talk story, celebrate milestones and feel at home," said Robert Kurisu, owner of the Pagoda Hotel, in a news release. "We've simply reimagined that experience with a modern aesthetic while preserving what makes the Pagoda the friendliest address of aloha."
Future plans include adding Rainbow Drive-In to the floating restaurant space, a Paris Baguette bakery and café, and a CU Hawaii convenience store.
For stays from now through Dec. 18, the Pagoda is offering a special 30% rate and waived parking fees. Rates start at $159 per night and the booking must be made by May 15.
