Pleasant rolls out points for bookings

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Pleasant Holidays implemented Points to Paradise, a travel agent rewards program that went into effect one day after Pleasants Bonus Bucks booking incentive ended on April 30.

We wanted to give our travel agency partners an easier, potentially more substantial incentive program to reward their sales efforts, said Jeremiah Healy, Pleasant Holidays senior vice president of sales. We also wanted to give them cash and travel options -- the best of both worlds.

Points to Paradise enables travel agents to earn points for bookings with Pleasant Holidays and Hawaii World for travel to Hawaii as well as Asia, Australia, Fiji, Mexico, New Zealand and Tahiti. Group travel and Pleasant Mainland USA Holidays are also included in the program. Air by Pleasant, Hotels by Pleasant and PleasantActivities.com bookings do not qualify for the program.

One point will be credited to each travel agent for every $10 in package sales. An additional 50 points will be earned for each reservation taken on PleasantAgent.com.

Additional points can be earned during periodic promotions to be held throughout the year.

More points can be earned (25 points each) when agents sell the Pleasant Holidays Protection Plan or Pleasants Travel Protection Plan. Once agents earn 5,000 points, they can redeem them for travel valued at $375 on Pleasant Holidays or Hawaii World products. At 10,000 points, the travel value increases to $750; or agents may redeem points in cash for $500.

Unused points will expire three years after they are earned. Travel agents who register on PleasantAgent.com are automatically part of the awards program.

Agents can obtain a user name and earn points through general reservations at (800) 448-3333; however, to track and redeem points, travel agents will need to register online.

According to the company, travel agents who made Pleasant Holidays bookings this year through April 30, for travel before Dec. 31, will continue to receive cash payments for the Bonus Bucks program. Reconciliation of these Bonus Bucks accounts must be completed by travel agents by Jan. 31.

Any eligible Bonus Bucks payments that are not submitted by Jan. 31 will expire.
