Summer brings value-minded packages for exploring the major islands


Westin MauiWith Hawaii's peak season just around the corner, many of the destination's hotel properties and wholesalers are rolling out packages designed to entice value-conscious vacationers. The following is a small sampling of the specials available for folks looking to visit the Aloha State's four major islands this summer.

• Couples interested in at least three nights on the Big Island's Kohala Coast can take advantage of the Hilton Waikoloa Village's Pick Your Passion special. Guests can choose one of the following options on each day of their stay: 18 holes of golf at the Waikoloa Beach or Kings Course; a 50-minute spa treatment; a one-hour morning tennis lesson; priority seating at the property's luau; a Champagne Sunset Cruise; a Black Sand Snorkel cruise; or a $100 credit toward the property's Dolphin Quest Encounter. • Aston Hotels & Resorts is offering summer travelers a Discover Oahu Package, featuring an oceanview room at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel; daily breakfast for two; an Arizona Memorial/Pearl Harbor City tour for two; and two tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center Alii Luau. Requiring a minimum four-night stay, the double-occupancy deal starts at $295 a night. Visit  

• Long revered for its commitment to the Hawaiian culture, the Kaanapali Beach Hotel is offering Maui visitors a minimum of four nights' accommodations in an oceanview room, a rental of a compact car, valet parking, daily buffet breakfast for two, one lunch for two at its poolside Tiki Grill and three days' use of either snorkel gear or an umbrella and chaise lounges for two starting at $1,349. The hotel's Best of the Beach package is good through Jan. 4. Visit
