A new law passed in Hawaii in 2017 allows for the use of certain three-wheeled vehicles on state roads, and now some of the sporty vehicles are coming to Waikiki
In response to the new law, Hawaii Jeep and Specialty Tours and Montgomery Powersports have introduced three-wheeled Polaris Slingshots to their rental fleet. The Slingshot, a two-seater that comes with a touch-screen navigation device and Bluetooth compatibility, is billed as a combination between a motorcycle and sports car, with a low suspension, aggressive styling and open top.
"We are always striving to offer new and unique experiences to our visitors," Bruce Fisher of Hawaii Jeep Tours said in a statement, "and the Slingshot is perfect for that."
The company is offering Slingshot rentals and guided tours from their location at the International Market Place in Waikiki.
