Michelle Payette of Playa Hotels and Resorts; Liliana Puga, sales manager for Hyatt Ziva, Cancun; and Andrea Wright, vice president, travel industry sales, prepare to welcome travel advisors at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun to highlight the company’s safety protocols.
Travel advisors have been reading about these and other hotel safety protocols, and Playa Hotels and Resorts decided to invite them to see for themselves what it looks like in an all-inclusive resort setting.
Last week, 50 agents answered an invitation to a three-night event at Hyatt Ziva Cancun to see, and experience, vacations in the new normal and learn the about the details of Playa's Stay Safe program.
The group also toured other local Playa properties.
Playa said it has already seen results. "Social posts have done wonders," said Andrea Wright, Playa's vice president of travel industry sales. "We saw an immediate rise in bookings, including some as soon as next week."
Wright said the fam even led to two weddings being booked at sister properties Hilton Playa del Carmen and Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic.
