Another major step toward the full recovery of Los Cabos from Hurricane Odile's devastation last fall will come on July 1 when the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort reopens its doors.

The 339-room property suffered extensive damage from the storm and has undergone a major reconstruction program

Despite being shut down for several months, the resort retained all its employees.

The resort already is booked solid through July 23, according to a hotel spokesperson.

The first room availability is July 24, and rates start at $209 per room, per night, double, in a deluxe king with ocean view and balcony.

Rates do not include taxes and service charges: a hefty 16% federal tax, 3% lodging and 10% service charge.

Among the other significant hotel opening dates in the region are One&Only Palmilla, April 20; Las Ventanas al Paraiso, June 4; Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa, July 1; Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, Aug. 15; Esperanza, an Auberge Resort, mid-August; Hyatt Place Los Cabos, Oct. 1; and the Westin Resort & Spa, March 1, 2016.
