InsightApple Vacations announced 11 new flights to Mexico and the Caribbean from multiple U.S. gateways for the 2012-2013 winter season.

New gateways include Austin, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; and Kansas City, Mo.

The expansion represents an increase of 15% in available air seats compared with last winter, according to President Tim Mullen.

“Extensive consumer research and input from travel agents helps us to determine what new, nonstop flights to offer to which destinations from what city,” Mullen said. “Many times customers’ vacation experiences start with where they want to go and how easily they can get there.”

The new flights are: Austin-Cancun; Detroit-Montego Bay; Des Moines-Cancun; Hartford-Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Kansas City to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos; Lansing (Mich.)-Puerto Vallarta; Minneapolis-Huatulco; Rockford (Ill.)-Montego Bay; and St. Louis-Huatulco.

Apple Vacations works with Sun Country Airlines, Frontier, JetBlue and AirTran. Roundtrip transfers are included on all international packages.
