Ker & Downey Botswana will open Kanana Nyana, a four-suite luxury safari camp in the Okavango Delta, on Oct. 15.
The camp sits on a private concession in the Kanana area, bordering Moremi Game Reserve, and will operate with a maximum of eight guests at any one time. Rates range from $1,250 to $2,480 per person, per night, depending on season, and are fully inclusive.
The concession's private status allows the full range of Delta activities unavailable inside national park boundaries, including guided walking safaris, night drives, mokoro excursions, motor boating and seasonal fishing. Two dedicated safari vehicles, each configured for a maximum of four guests, keep guiding ratios tight.
Wildlife in the area includes lion, leopard and African wild dog. The concession also provides access to one of the largest heronries in the Okavango Delta, making it a strong option for birding-focused itineraries, with regular sightings of the elusive Pel's Fishing Owl.
Each of the four thatched suites is individually styled around one of the Okavango's signature tree species — Marula, Sausage, Ebony and Mokolwane Palm — and includes a private plunge pool. In-room wellness treatments and a small gym round out the amenities.
"Kanana Nyana reflects the way we believe safaris should be experienced — intimate, authentic and deeply connected to place," said Kim Nixon, Chief Operating Officer of Chobe Holdings.
Ker & Downey Botswana is a subsidiary of Chobe Holdings, a 100% Botswana-owned tourism group with more than 50 years of operating history in the country.
